As a result of our concert in bar "Vrienden" during Zoetermeer Blues:

called "Vrienden" there was much ado about Mariëlla Tirotto. She
and her band made such a great impression on the audience as well as on
the organization, that already they have been booked for
the edition of next year. Then however, they'll be playing on the Main

Cd release
On november 29 our Cd Somewhere down the road will be released!
That very same day we'll also have our Cd-presentation, which is gonna
be very special with guestmusicians such as Erwin Nyhoff attending and Peter de Wit as our host.

We have found a studio and a co-producer
After we laid down the criteria with regard to the studio
where we want to record our CD and someone who would want to co-produce
the album, we started looking;
As far as the studio is concerned: nowadays equipment isn't an issue anymore.
The things that matter to us lie in the following areas:: how is the
ambiance, do we hit it off with the recording engineer, does he
work quickly, does he have an ear for music, can we come to terms
concerning the procedure and last but not least: is he affordable (More
expensive doesn't necessarily mean you get better quality).
Everything we were looking for we have found at the Beaufort Recording Studio (Bovenkarspel), owned by Han Swagerman.
As a band, you can choose to produce an album yourself.
However, we believe in the advantages of bringing an "outsider" into the project,
because he or she doesn't have any emotional ties to the songs and therefore
will be able to listen more objective and with a fresh
ear.
On the other hand: he or she has to be able to
cope with five headstrong musicians who hold strong views about their
music.;
We're glad to announce that we've found someone
we trust completely to be the right man for the job: Jan Scherpenzeel ( The Twelve Bar Blues
Band ).;
We have talked things through concerning the
expectations both sides have; we appear to have the same vision of how to
proceed and believe together we can come to a productive
cooperation.;
It comes down to Heins and me producing the
album, Jan will be co-producing: giving feedback, contributing ideas ( for
example when it comes to arrangements or sound ).
Heins and me will have the final responsibility
and take the final decisions.;

Final concert Nederblues.nl
The moment
this report is released, the final concert of Nederblues.nl has already
finished.
The band
starts out as a tribute-band, an homage to the very best of the Dutch
bluesscene of the sixties and seventies. From the start, they have a lot of
success with their self-willed versions of the songs, producing their unique
sound.
Also almost
immediately, visitors of their concerts start asking for a CD.
The band
members do have recording plans indeed, but initially they aren’t supposed to
be carried out in the short term.
Anyway,
they changed their mind and the debut album will be released later this year.
The album
will largely contain original material.
The first
few songs have already been written and now are part of the repertoire.
Because
it’s largely about original material, it’s inevitable that the time has come to
change the band’s name, which after all is connected to the tribute concept.
Therefore, from now on
Nederblues.nl has turned into Mariëlla Tirotto & the Blues Federation.
The origin of
the name is the result of the fact that Mariëlla Tirotto fronts the band; also,
the band members have very different background in several aspects: the singer
is half-Italian, the guitar player half-German, the bass player has partly
German roots, the drummer has his roots on the Moluccas, Actually , the blues
harpist is the only genuine Dutchman.
Their
musical background also shows a great deal of variety ( classical music, rock,
funk and more ).
The one
thing that connects them is their passion for the blues, mixed with some other
influences. In addition they are planning to perform not only in the Netherlands but all over Europe,
so…..
